Dingle

Dingle /Daingeann Uí Chúis is a vibrant farming and fishing port within the magnificent West Kerry Peninsula of Corca Dhuibhne. This section of The Wild Atlantic Way is world renowned for its breath-taking, rugged coastline, repeatedly used in critically acclaimed films. Its people are richly immersed in the deep cultural roots of the spoken Gaelic language,  Its ceol/music, dance/rince and stair/history and wonderful folklore. A stay with us here at An Capall Dubh will ensure your immersion into this cultural experience and will have you returning again and again to replenish your soul/anam.

Widely known for its traditional pubs, lively entertainment and home to many local festivals such as An Dreoilín / The Wren, Féile na Bealtaine and The Dingle Food Festival. It’s a must see location for all visitors.

The harbour and Dingle Bay was once home to Fungie, the most famous solitary wild bottlenose Dingle dolphin who made this his home as far back as 1983!

Dingle Peninsula is also home to many musically renowned names such as the award-winning musicians of the Begley family and singer Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh along with David Geaney of The Dingle Pub, our world renowned 5-times world champion Irish Dancer and many more gifted musicians, singers and dancers. Local artists Carol Cronin and Liam O’Neill, to mention but a few. The list is far too long to mention all the wonderfully talented and gifted sports heroes such as our Gaelic footballers, AFL Star Mark O’Connor and the late, great Páidí Ó Sé, all our local poets, musicians, writers, artists and all the small hard-working businesses that make up this especially culturally enriched haven.

If you are walking The Dingle Way a stop over for a night or two at An Capall Dubh is just the treat to recharge your batteries before you head onwards on your turas/pilgrimage.
